Bucket List Journey

Bucket list journey: August

I may not have been here for much of August (I arrived about half way through the month), but since I was not working much during those first few weeks I had plenty of time to check things off of my bucket list!

First thing on my bucket list: meet my new roommates! Coming into this program, my number one fear was that I was not going to get along with my roommates. Luckily, I 100% hit the roommate jackpot!

Second thing on my to do list: meet my boss! Isn't he just the cutest?!

Visitng Galaxy's Edge was probably something on everyone's bucket list since it opened during our program. However, I was extra lucky to get to do a cast preview of the new land. It was amazing to be able to experience Galaxy's Edge (or experience anywhere in WDW honestly) without the suffocating crowds. I am not a huge fan of Star Wars, but I could physically feel the magic in the air as I walked around that day.

Believe it or not, before my program I had never tried dole whip before. So naturally, that had to be one of the first things I checked off my bucket list. I had my first taste of heaven at Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian Village Resort. While I was there, I also watched the Happily Ever After fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian. It was a great way to explore WDW before we were allowed to go into the parks.

This is something I suggest everyone add to their bucket list (unless you're dairy intolerant). Attempting to complete the Kitchen Sink Challenge at the Beaches and Cream Restaurant (Beach Club Resort) was a great way of roommate bonding. No better way to bond with someone than to watch each other eat ice cream until you're sick. (P.S. this is another fun thing to do during the few days where you can't go to the parks yet).

This is a big one! One of the most memorable things I will ever check off a bucket list is going through Traditions and officially becoming a cast member. I do not want to share much about what we did that day because I think it is important that everyone experiences it themselves without any spoilers. All I will say is this: anytime I have a bad day at work I think back to the magic that I experienced on my Traditions day and it makes me grateful to be here and have the opportunity to create happiness for this company.

Once I ~FINALLY~ got access to the parks, I had to check something incredilby important off my list. So I made my way to the Magic Kingdom and snapped a picture in front of the world famous purple wall.

That wraps up all the bucket list experiences I had during my first few weeks here at Disney. It was so fun and so magical to be able to live here and explore anytime I want.

Unfortunately, I did have to start work eventually and the fun adventures became a little less frequent (but not any less magical!).

August was amazing, and now I can’t wait to see what September brings.
